In a significant development for Australia's agricultural sector, Harland Green, a newly established Lloyd's coverholder, has introduced an all-risk farm insurance package tailored for large commercial farming operations.
This initiative seeks to address the complex and often underserved insurance needs of substantial agribusinesses.

Founded by Glen Drinnan, a seasoned professional with eight years at Allianz, Harland Green is committed to solving intricate problems in sectors that have traditionally lacked comprehensive insurance solutions. The Farming All Risk package currently encompasses industrial special risk insurance, covering farm property, business interruption, and plant and equipment, alongside public and products liability insurance pertinent to farm operations. Future expansions may include crop and more detailed livestock coverage.

Drinnan highlighted the stagnation in product development within the agricultural insurance sector, attributing it to reduced insurer support. He emphasized the necessity for insurance products to evolve in tandem with modern farming practices. By leveraging data-driven automation, Harland Green aims to provide brokers with swift quoting capabilities and a streamlined claims process, enhancing efficiency and transparency.

Utilizing aerial imagery and other independent tools, Harland Green seeks to gain a precise understanding of the exposures and insurance needs of their clients. This approach enables the provision of broader coverage than typically available, offering peace of mind to farmers navigating the complexities of modern agriculture.

For Australian farmers, particularly those managing large-scale operations, this development presents an opportunity to reassess their current insurance coverage. Engaging with brokers to explore the offerings of Harland Green could lead to more tailored and comprehensive protection, ensuring that all aspects of their operations are adequately safeguarded.
